Harmony Headlands State Park

The turnoff from Highway One barely registers — a small lot serving maybe ten vehicles, wedged between Cayucos and Cambria. From there, a former ranch road traces 4.5 miles through a coastal valley that spent over a century as cattle range before the American Land Conservancy purchased the acreage and deeded it to California, creating Harmony Headlands State Park in 2008. The 784 acres end at ocean bluffs. Dogs and bikes stay behind. Come on foot, or don't come at all.
