On December 24, 1958, Alex Madonna opened his motel with its first twelve rooms — and was so excited to have his first guest that he refunded the man's $7 room rental. That story tells you everything. The Madonna Inn now runs 110 uniquely themed rooms, a pink-dominant exterior that extends to the lamp posts and trash cans, and a men's restroom rock-waterfall urinal designed by Hollywood set designer Harvey Allen Warren.
