San Luis Obispo Museum of Art

Free admission, on the west end of Mission Plaza, steps from the mission that gave San Luis Obispo its name — SLOMA occupies ground the city has always organized itself around. A small group of artists, educators, and enthusiasts established the foundation, and what grew from that is a working museum focused on California contemporary art, running rotating exhibitions and community programming year-round. The doors are open Thursday through Monday. Nothing costs anything to get in.
