San Luis Obispo Children's Museum

On Nipomo Street in downtown San Luis Obispo, the Children's Museum runs on a simple mandate: learning through play. The museum holds regular programming including a quarterly Sensory Night for neurodivergent children and their families, and maintains access programs — free admission on the third Thursday of each month, reduced entry for SNAP/EBT cardholders, and passes through the county library system. USA Today called it a must for families with young children. It earned gold in Family Attraction at the 2026 Best of the Central Coast awards.
