Good forArts & culture lovers
Luis A. Ferré founded this museum in 1959 with a collection he assembled by chasing value over prestige — scholars called it kitsch, he kept buying. What began as 72 works in a house on Cristina Street is now the largest art museum in the Caribbean, accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and holding some 4,500 pieces across fourteen galleries. The building, designed by Edward Durell Stone, was completed in 1965. In 2021, the museum received the National Medal for Museum and Library Service.
