Iglesia Catedral Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Ponce

Ponce's main square, Plaza Las Delicias, has a cathedral sitting in its center — an arrangement so deliberate it effectively splits the plaza in two. That geometry alone signals the weight this building carries in the city. The cathedral's history runs to 1670; fires and earthquakes took pieces of it across three centuries, and it was rebuilt again between 1931 and 1937 to a design by architect Francisco Porrata Doria. The exterior is neoclassical, pale blue and gray, flanked by two square towers with silver domes. It has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1984.
