Glenwood Canyon Recreation Trail

The concrete path follows the Colorado River through Glenwood Canyon, running alongside I-70 for roughly 15 miles between Glenwood Springs and the canyon's eastern end. Rated easy westbound — mostly downhill — and moderate heading back. Rest areas with restrooms and picnic tables appear at intervals. The trail is open to cyclists, runners, inline skaters, and wheelchair users, with fishing access along the river. Shuttles from local bike shops handle the return trip if you'd rather not earn the elevation twice.
