Yampah Spa and Vapor Caves

Good forHistory buffs

The Ute people used these underground chambers for healing long before Glenwood Springs had a name. Three subterranean rock rooms, fed by geothermal water at 125°F, fill with mineral-rich steam — the temperature in the caves hovers around 110 to 112 degrees. The water carries 34 minerals and trace elements, notably sulfate, nitrate, zinc, and potassium. One of only a few known natural vapor caves in North America.
