Three Sisters Wilderness

Good forOutdoor lovers

Established by Congress in 1964 and spanning 286,708 acres across the Deschutes and Willamette National Forests, Three Sisters Wilderness is the second-largest wilderness area in Oregon. The three volcanic peaks — North, Middle, and South Sister, all above 10,000 feet — share the terrain with Broken Top and Collier Glacier, the largest glacier in Oregon. More than 260 miles of trail cross the wilderness, including 40 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. North Sister requires technical climbing; the other two do not.
