The multi-story adobe homes here have been continuously inhabited for more than a thousand years. The Taos Pueblo people — originally known as the Red Willow people — built this community and have kept it in its original state. It holds both UNESCO World Heritage designation, granted in 1992, and National Historic Landmark status, conferred in 1960. The pueblo has chosen to open its doors to visitors, on its own terms, to tell its own story. Guided tours run daily.
