Edna Valley Vineyard

The Edna Valley AVA was established on May 12, 1982 — the nation's eleventh appellation — after Edna Valley Vineyard joined four other petitioners to put this cool, fog-fed valley on the federal map. The valley claims California's longest growing season, a product of marine air funneling inland from Morro Bay, which keeps temperatures moderate and pushes complexity into the grapes. The winery focuses on what the land does best: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. Tastings run Friday through Sunday, by reservation.
