Hoh River Trail to Mount Olympus

The Hoh River begins as glacial meltwater on Mount Olympus and runs 56 miles to the Pacific — and the trail that follows it upstream covers 17.5 miles of that journey. Mostly flat through old-growth rainforest for the first stretch, it steepens sharply near the end, finishing at Glacier Meadows and the Blue Glacier. Mountaineers use this route to attempt Olympus itself, a climb that demands glacier travel and crevasse rescue skills. Everyone else turns around with something they didn't expect to find.
