Hammondsport Village Historic District

Settled in 1792 at the southern tip of Keuka Lake, Hammondsport spent the better part of two centuries accumulating its record — wine industry roots, Glenn Curtiss's aviation firsts, the 1935 flood that killed seven people and remade the village's stone retaining walls. The entire village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in December 2024, encompassing 308 primary buildings and 93 historic outbuildings. That listing unlocks federal and state historic tax credits — reason enough for the place to keep looking the way it does.
