John Paul Jones Arena

Paul Tudor Jones graduated from UVA in 1976, made his fortune, and when the university needed a new arena, gave $35 million. He took the naming rights and used them on his father — John Paul Jones, law school class of 1948. The arena opened in 2006, holds 14,623, and is the largest indoor venue in Virginia. The men's basketball team is 257–63 here through March 2025. Rick Pitino, who went winless in three visits, called it one of the best home-court advantages he'd seen in forty years of college basketball.
