Firefly Distillery

Founded in Charleston in 2005 by Jim Irvin and Scott Newitt, Firefly built its name on a simple idea: sweet tea vodka, distilled on Wadmalaw Island using tea from Charleston Tea Plantation. The Sazerac Company now licenses and distributes that product nationally. South Carolina's largest distillery, Firefly operates out of North Charleston's Park Circle neighborhood, where tours run Monday through Saturday. The current property is under contract to be sold, though Firefly says it is not closing — it's moving, with all scheduled events through December 2027 still on.
