Brittlebank Park and Joe Riley Stadium (Segment—Charleston RiverDogs)

The park along the Ashley River opened in 1997 and carries the name of the mayor who assumed office in December 1975 — the only mayor most Charlestonians had ever known. Joseph P. Riley Jr. concentrated on visible results: the placement of parks, the construction of public amusements. This is one of those amusements. The Charleston RiverDogs play here now, and that's reason enough to go.
