14-story Neo-Georgian hotel built 1923-24 by E.W. Grove to replace the demolished 1886 wooden Battery Park Hotel; Grove leveled the small mountain the original sat on with steam shovels and ox carts. Site of the 1936 murder of Helen Clevenger. Converted to senior apartments in 1980.
