Luckenbach Texas General Store and Dance Hall

Waylon Jennings recorded "Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love)" having never traveled there — the song became one of his biggest hits anyway, reaching number one on the country charts and number 25 on the pop charts. The town it immortalized was nearly a ghost town by the 1960s, bought for $30,000 in 1970 after a newspaper ad ran offering the place for sale. The general store dates to 1849, or more likely 1886 by land records. Either way, it's still open.
