Avila Beach Pier (Port San Luis Pier)

The Avila Beach Pier stretches 1,685 feet into the Pacific — long enough to matter, short enough to walk. Built in 1908, it served as a working gateway for goods and passengers when Avila Beach was a genuine shipping port. It has weathered storms and restorations since. Fishing from it requires no license, as with all California public piers. Three piers reach into San Luis Obispo Bay here; this one belongs to anyone who shows up.
