Point Wilson Lighthouse

National Register of Historic Places
Good forHistory buffsArts & culture lovers

Built in 1914 of reinforced concrete, the octagonal tower at Point Wilson still carries its original fourth-order Fresnel lens and remains the tallest lighthouse on Puget Sound at 51 feet. It marks where the Strait of Juan de Fuca narrows into Admiralty Inlet — the main shipping channel's sharp turn south toward Puget Sound, a place the Chimacum called Kam-kam-ho long before Captain Vancouver named it in 1792. The U.S. Coast Guard keeps the light active; the grounds belong to Washington State Parks.
