Colorado River Confluence with Roaring Fork

Two rivers meet in downtown Glenwood Springs — the Roaring Fork completing its 70-mile run from Independence Pass, the Colorado continuing west through the canyon. The city grew up at this junction, platted on land the Ute people had used for centuries before white settlers arrived. Two Rivers Park sits at the confluence, with a boat ramp where rafters either pull out after the Roaring Fork's Class I-III rapids or push on into the Colorado. The water here is the reason Glenwood Springs exists at all.
