Farmington Country Club

National Register of Historic Places
Good forHistory buffsArts & culture lovers

The octagonal east wing of what is now Farmington Country Club's clubhouse was designed by Thomas Jefferson — one of the rare survivals of his private residential work. Built as an addition to a structure that predates 1780, the wing was constructed in 1802 and completed in 1803. The property passed through a chain of private hands before the membership purchased the club in 1979. It remains private, with membership by invitation only.
