Spoleto Festival USA Venues (Gaillard Center)

Spoleto Festival USA has made its home here since 1977, and the Gaillard Center is its anchor. The current building opened in 2015, replacing an earlier municipal auditorium that dated to 1968 — both named for John Palmer Gaillard Jr., who served as Charleston's mayor from 1959 to 1975. With 1,800 seats in its Rivers Performance Hall, it remains Charleston's largest performing arts venue. The festival that put this city on the world cultural map still runs through these doors every May and June.
