Prairie Berry Winery

Sandi Vojta's father made a mistake one day in the winery — mixed the wrong fruit — and the result became Prairie Berry's best-known wine: Red Ass Rhubarb, a rhubarb-and-raspberry blend. Vojta, a fifth-generation winemaker with chemistry and biology degrees, founded Prairie Berry in Hill City in 1999. The winery has since won thousands of awards for wines made from South Dakota fruits and grapes.
