Two Medicine Valley

Before the Going-to-the-Sun Road redirected Glacier's foot traffic, Two Medicine was the park's main draw. Now it sits quiet in the southeastern corner — a glacially carved valley holding Two Medicine Lake, rimmed by peaks, off the radar of most visitors. The 1913 chalet on the lakeshore is a National Historic Landmark; in 1934, President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave a radio address from it. That combination — the solitude, the history, the water — is reason enough to make the drive.
