Four years. That's how long the limestone courthouse on Blanco's town square functioned as a county seat before Johnson City took the title in 1890. The building outlasted that defeat by more than a century — cycling through other uses, then rescued by a private preservation society that purchased and renovated it. Today it anchors downtown Blanco as a visitor center, event venue, and active gathering place. Admission is free.
