Meijer Gardens Richard & Helen DeVos Japanese Garden

Opened in 2015, the Richard & Helen DeVos Japanese Garden covers 8.5 acres within Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Designed by Hoichi Kurisu, it mixes Japanese and native plantings with a teahouse built in Japan and reassembled on site, a dry-landscape Zen garden, and a bonsai collection. The teahouse is accessible only on specific days — reason enough to check the schedule before you go.
