Good forHistory buffsArts & culture lovers

The coroner's book from the 1900 Storm is here — personal effects collected from the dead, tagged, described, held for families who might come to claim them. Many never did. Those unclaimed items remain in the museum's collection of over 25,000 artifacts and archives. Opened in 1976, the museum moved into the Galveston County Courthouse at 722 Moody/21st Street after Hurricane Ike damaged its previous home in 2008. Free admission on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
