Moosewood Restaurant

Founded in 1973 as a worker collective in Ithaca's Dewitt Building, Moosewood has spent more than fifty years making the case that vegetables deserve serious cooking. The restaurant won the James Beard America's Classics award in 2000, and the Moosewood Collective's cookbooks — five million copies sold — have shaped how much of the world thinks about plant-forward eating. It is collectively run, sources from local farms when possible, and remains, simply, the real thing.
