Downtown park formerly named Lee Park (until 2017), then Emancipation Park (2017-July 2018), now Market Street Park. The Robert E. Lee equestrian statue at its center became the proximate flashpoint for the August 2017 Unite the Right rally. Statue removed July 10, 2021 and melted down in 2023 by the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center's 'Swords Into Plowshares' project.
