Built in 2001 on the west bank of the Deschutes River in Bend's Old Mill District, the Hayden Homes Amphitheater — formerly the Les Schwab Amphitheater — holds up to 8,000 people and bills itself as Oregon's largest outdoor venue. The artists' dressing rooms are refurbished railcars from the old mills, one of them the schoolhouse where Les Schwab attended class in a Brooks-Scanlon logging camp. The summer season typically runs from Memorial Day Weekend through early October.
