1883 Queen Anne boardinghouse purchased by Julia Westall Wolfe in 1906 and run as 'Old Kentucky Home' while her son Thomas (1900-1938) grew up there; immortalized as 'Dixieland' in his 1929 novel Look Homeward, Angel. Asheville banned the book from its library for seven years.
