Camp Mystic and the Guadalupe River Camp Corridor (Hunt)

Established in 1926 on the banks of the Guadalupe River near Hunt, Camp Mystic is a private Christian summer camp for girls, set among cypress, live oak, and pecan trees roughly 18 miles northwest of Kerrville. The July 4 flood that tore through Kerr County killed more than 100 people, including children and counselors from Camp Mystic. The camp has since filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy amid the resulting litigation.
