Frisco Native American Museum and Natural History Center

The building has been standing for a hundred years. Inside it, a nationally recognized collection of Native American artifacts documents the first inhabitants of Hatteras Island — among them a dugout canoe discovered on museum property and items recovered from East Carolina University's archaeological dig at Buxton. Galleries cover Native American cultures across the United States. A nature trail includes a longhouse and other examples of early village structures. The museum runs year-round out of Frisco, on the Outer Banks.
