Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center

The visitor center at Hurricane Ridge no longer exists. A fire on May 7, 2023 destroyed the Day Lodge and visitor center — a building dating to 1952 — while renovation work was underway. The ridge itself, one of Olympic National Park's two most visited sites, sits at 5,242 feet and remains open, with access restricted to a daily vehicle cap. As of May 2025, an $80 million rebuilding project is on hold due to federal budget cuts.
