Drake Park and Mirror Pond

Good forFamiliesOutdoor loversHistory buffs

Named for Alexander M. Drake, the original owner of the site, this 13-acre park along the Deschutes River has been Bend's civic living room for over a century. Mirror Pond — a widened stretch of the river — gives the park its reflective character and its name to at least one well-known local beer. A major renovation completed in 2003 upgraded the restrooms, replaced pathways with pavers, and returned the High Wheel to the park after years in storage.
